Building a Video Game: Key Roles
It’s been a while – I know! How are you? I hope you’re enjoying the holiday season. I’d like to tell you a story, if you don’t mind. :)
Back in 2008, I remember being extremely ecstatic about the new, upcoming Prince of Persia for the PS3. This was a dream for me. I absolutely loved the Prince of Persia series. After reading the wonderful reviews on Kotaku, IGN, and other prominent gaming websites, I decided to pre-order the game.
Once the game finally came in the mail, I inserted the disk into the console with very high hopes.
Unfortunately, after playing the game, I was let down by the game’s redundant mechanics and mundane storyline. In fact, many gamers agreed with my opinions. It was clear that these video game journalists had given gamers like myself false information. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way.
I’m really passionate about fighting journalistic corruption in the games industry. I’m writing to you today to introduce you to my project, BasedGamer.com. BasedGamer will be a community-driven, game-review aggregator that will be honest and transparent with its reviews.
BasedGamer currently has an Indiegogo campaign and I’d love it if you’d help support me in my endevour. You can view my Indiegogo campaign video below:
